Stencil Mass Media Critique

The Shit of Today is the Fertilizer of Tomorrow: Mass Media Critique Stencil in Buenos Aires, Argentina
The shit of today is the fertilizer of tomorrow. Wow, what a strong statement and so many ways to interpret the message behind the stencil. The bottom line seems clear enough, nothing is as bad as there isn't something good in it — be it just to serve as raw material to produce a good fertilizer. In my understanding the stencil refers to the concentration in the mass media landscape and the uniform opinion that comes with it. Those newspapers ain't good for nothing but to work up a massive ****. What's your comprehension?

I'm not sure how to interpret that...where did you find this? Was it on a wall somewhere?

Very fascinating.

Wow. Interesting one. My understanding would be, be careful what you print today as it may lead to something bad tomorrow. In other words tomorrow is shaped by our today's behavior. Or something along these lines.

I think it is a great image for a post!

In my opinion, most newspapers are only good to wrap fish and chips or to sit on at the football ...

A wise media mogul will allow many different voices in his choir so having a strong owner does not necessarily have to be bad, methinks.

Tenemos los mismos periodicos aqui tambien... I see it as what is good one day can be bad the next day, depending on how the political wind flows, depending on what we/they are told to think by some "higher" powers. Time to wake up, maybe, time to built a new world, with this fertilizer maybe.

I'll go with your interpretation.

I wish the mass media would elevate the cultural level and not lower it as it is now...

Great scatological thinking.

@Jacob
Yes, you're right. I found this stencil on the wall of a residential house in San Telmo.

I found myself on the very bottom, when I heard knocking from below...

Not all shit makes good fertilizer - some shit is just too toxic.

i think its more of a "you are what you eat" sort of vibe. like if you read shit long enough, you're gonna be a shithead eventually.

or more seriously, if you consume lie after lie and untruth after untruth, at some point that will be what you are, and truth will be irrelevant (moreso than it is now)
