Obviously traffic in Buenos Aires, especially during the rush hour, can be quite a mess. Although the traffic lights were perfectly working these police guys were absolutely necessary to prevent the total traffic meltdown. It's hard to understand why some car drivers are so unmindful of others. They try to use every tiny inch of the road and enter an intersection although it is already blocked and cannot handle any additional cars.

One of the things that soon becomes very clear at CDP is that people are pretty much the same the world over...this could be a scene from any American city, and drivers act in the same stupid ways.

Traffic is the bane of modern civilization, and people are much ruder behind the wheel of a car than in person.
I remember well what happens when the traffic is high, it rains, and then there are the piqueteros who would shut down the subway at times. Most of the time though the subway runs great and there are so many radio taxicabs to take that things work smoothly.
Unfortunately, the "culture" is pretty much the same here. I'd take the subway and let others fight it out in the intersections.
It's not worth it. The last idiot hasn't been born yet. Take a deep breath, sell your car and go public!
