Eat more Fruit and Veggies

Fruit and Vegetable Store with Fancy Pyramids La Boca Buenos Aires, Argentina
This is what I call a scrumptious eye catcher. I stumbled upon this extraordinary fruit display in Avenida Almirante Brown, down in La Boca. Well, the store was far from being perfect and the variety of fruit and veggies was not too overwhelming but the particular presentation made it an amazing store. I really like the way they stapled the fruit as pyramids on top of these baskets. It adds to the appeal of the ripe fruits and entices customers like me. Compared to other neighborhoods, fruit vendors in La Boca seem to have a lot more space to present their fresh produce.
Anyway, eat more fruit and veggies! (:

Almost feels like one would be spoiling some of the artwork to grab and buy a few. Well, I'm sure they'd repair the damage swiftly. An elegant display. Someone could get a job in a major supermarket doing this in larger scale, methinks.

Eat more fruit and veggies! I agree, and easier with such a colorful and tantalizing display.

That is a gorgeous shot - so very colorful. As you say, it would be hard not to be attracted to this store...

Wow! Someone spends hours making those beautiful displays. Or s something with shelves under the fruit to help it look so neat? The produce looks wonderfully fresh.

:-D You're right, it's an amazing display, but I imagine there are lots of mishaps (what happens if someone grabs an apple from the bottom of the pyramid? :-))

And I thought the Arentinians only ate meat!

The color! So beautiful! Some of those stacks, I'd be afraid to remove a fruit/veggie or it might spiral down!

Certainly, making those displays was at least as tedious and time consuming as the effort to harvest the produce. That's a very aesthetic way to decorate your store. It reminds me of the pyramids of Giza.

Apparently, my comment was wrong. According to the Economist, some Argentinians are daring to eat vegetables.

I was born and grew up in Buenos Aires. The fruit and veggies at the "verdulerias" have always been arranged in some artistic manner. Let me point out some important things about us: a) We've always had fruit/veggie stands everywhere in the city. b) Eating fruits and veggies has always been an important part of our diets. c) Even though for some reason people and the media think that we only eat meat we do not. Our country's bounty also provides us with great poultry and fish; thus this is part of our diet as well. Pasta, paella, etc. also enter the picture because of our ancestry. The same goes for German dishes, French dishes and the like. d) Our main protein dishes are always accompanied by a well assorted salad or a panache of veggies. Restaurants always have fruits and veggies in their menus (veggies for side dishes / fruit for dessert). e) It is not common for people to serve themselves at the fruit stand. The attendant does so, gladly! f) There is no display rack or anything like that underneath the fruit/veggies. This is done one by one just like building blocks.
