Trouble Under the Hood

Transport Car Parked with Open Hood in the Streets of Palmero in Buenos Aires, Argentina
This cargo van was left unattended like that, perfectly parked along the curb with the hood open. I have no idea why the driver left his car like this. Maybe he had some overheating issues and wanted to aid cooling. Maybe he left his truck alone to get some gas or he just went away to get some help with car troubleshooting. Maybe it's a bit of everything, maybe not. Anyway, it's quite common to see old and wrecked cars running in the street of Buenos Aires.

Car and truck mechanics must do well in Buenos Aires. Or do may people do the work on their own broken down vehicles?

The owner could turn this truck in for the "Cash for Clunkers" program here in the US, and get paid to do so. Maybe.

They must cause a lot of traffic problems.

The Mad Professor strikes again, at least according to those posters.

What a fascinating vehicle. It looks like they have chopped off the back half of a pick-up truck and put a massive tea tin on it. I hope its owner fixed its troubles and it is still chugging along.

The engine died. He called for help. When no one came to the rescue he decided to go for an ice cream.
