The tango belongs to Argentina such as gauchos (Argentine cowboys), asado (Argentinean barbecue), mate or soccer. Some say dancing the Argentine tango is good to begin with when it comes to learn ballroom dances. I guess this is what tango teachers tell you. But before hitting the tango schools I would suggest you start from scratch by simply watching others dancing the tango in the streets of the city. There is a very high chance of watching locals dancing the tango somewhere in Buenos Aires.
What do you think is the best dance for starters?

The best dance is probably the one which brings most coins into that hat... ;) In my case, people would probably pay to have me stop dancing but that's a whole different story.
Interesting photo, would have been nice to enlarge this one.
Oh, it's really fantastic! If I were she I'd breake my heels on this cobblestones, for sure!
However, lovely shot :-)
I don't have an opinion on the question since I can't dance to save my life. However, the picture makes me even more excited about getting back to BsAs early next year. I've become quite the Gardel fan. Why, on a good day I can sing most of the lyrics to Volver.
Oh cool! I like the samba!
Lovely Shot...
I've seen photos of people dancing in the streets before...delightful...this is a great shot and so colorful.
Who provides the music?
I'd love to learn the tango, but not on the street, I think! ;)
What a fun thing to encounter on the street!
I just love those spivvy shoes!
This is an interesting post with the text. The one yesterday was interesting because of the picture.
I managed to get a new blog started a few days ago. It is only about flowers.
Our Flower Pot
I don't know a lot about dancing but I do like the tango. You're a great photographer.
Great pic. You capture the long leg, the people walking and watching, the speakers, the hat. Great street scene.
I love watching the tango. It is so sensual and sexy and the music just makes the blood quicken.
Have you seen the movie, Scent of a Woman? There is a great tango dance scene in the movie and is probably my favorite scene.
