Meet the Carteleros

Carteleros Sticking Posters on a Wall in Shopping Street Calle Florida in Buenos Aires, Argentina
I met these friendly gentlemen in downtown Buenos Aires while they were sticking posters on walls in the shopping street Florida. They aroused my attention because they were working together hand in hand so well, emphasizing what teamwork is all about. Both were accurate, precise, and pretty fast. It was just half a minute and the whole wall was done. As soon as they recognize me they began to pose to give me a chance to picture them. The posters, by the way, announce a concert with Rolando Paz, "Chato" Arizmendi and Ariel Puchetta to end the year with Latin music. Well, I'm not familiar with any of these musicians but I suppose they are popular in Uruguay because it seems the event is specifically aiming at Uruguayos living in Buenos Aires. Thank you for the picture, guys!

Wow, that is pretty neat! Is Florida mostly a pedestrian street? These two look pretty amicable - did you tell them their photo would be blasted around the world?

It’s that time of year again! I’m doing the rounds and apologising for my complete failure to more regularly offer comment on everybody’s incredible efforts for the year. I know how hard it can be to keep up with the daily grind of everyday posting, and want to thank you for your efforts.

I especially want to wish festive greetings for all from down here at [nearly] the end of the world, the bottom of Tasmania.

So, if you could delete whatever is not applicable, I’d like to wish you a very pleasant/merry/happy/wonderful/safe Amaterasu; Ashurall; Beiwe; Choimus; Christmas; Dazh Boh; Dongzhi; Goru; Hanukkah; Hogmanay; Junkanoo; Karachun; Koleda; Lenæa; Meán Geimhridh; Modranicht; New Years; Ras as-Sana; Rozhanitsa Feast; Şeva Zistanê; shōgatsu; Summer Solstice [if you're in the Southern Hemisphere]; Sviatki; Winter solstice [if you're in the Northern Hemisphere]; Yalda; Yule-tide; Ziemassvētki; and Коляда!

With a hearty three cheers from Kris, Jen, Henry and Ezra!

Great shot and for me a great find with this blog!

My grandfather directed a film in which the lead was an "attacchino," a man who glues posters on city walls, just like in your photo. Everything's great until his bicycle gets stolen...

I really love the message you send across through your visuals on this blog. I find the "rioplatenses" very proud and accomodating people. There is a lot of wealth in terms of their culture and I am glad to see someone taking a deep interest in the overall picture. As you said yourself, "going off the tourist route". Will be following curiously after sumbling on this interesting find.
