If you like backpacking, Argentina will be heaven for you especially when you're on a budget. The country is easily accessible via bus, and getting around is cheap and reliable. There are many different bus companies to get in every tiny corner of Argentina and the neighboring countries. Well, all you need is some extra time and, of course, a ticket. Hence, you will sooner or later find yourself at one of these ticket counters lined up in an endless row in the bus terminal of Estación Retiro. Just choose your destination and find the right counter. Buen viaje!
How nice to have such transportation readily available. Doesn't appear too many folks are taking advantage of it here, though...perhaps it was the time of day...

ReplyDeleteThe bus system is obviously working well. I imagined Argentina might have some fine old railway lines too. Is that the case?
ReplyDeleteI took one of these long distance buses from Puerto Madryn to Bariloche and it was a very good experience (for me, cause my husband was too busy trying to hear if everyone talked in their sleep, so he didn't close an eye the entire 10 hours). There was enough space to stretch my legs, some sandwiches for dinner and a movie. A+ as buses go.
