The subway network of Buenos Aires could be larger but at least the city is lucky to have a functioning underground transportation system that covers a large part of the city already. While four long lines lead straight to and from downtown Buenos Aires, there are two other lines that expand vertically. That is a good start but not yet sufficient. The city definitely needs more circular connectors between the radial lines. This would make public transport a lot easier, faster, and more efficient. Anyway, I love to tour around with the Subte. It tells so much about the people and the city.
I like this slice of life picture. it reminds me of the subways in NYC.
ReplyDeleteI like the photo too, there's life breathing from it. I wish I could take pictures like this, but I'm always too shy to try. I liked the BA Subte, it was fast and fairly easy to manage albeit a bit hot in February (no AC from what I remember). I even remember getting in for free - the subway workers were on strike and their form of protest was to leave everybody get in without a ticket. My only regret is that I didn't get to see Linea A.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool image. So much city life in it. Great shot.

ReplyDeleteyes very life-shot! and is summer time too!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have subways in the city where I am right now. But I have tried riding it and the experience was fun.
ReplyDeleteI had a greatest opportunity to visit BA in 2006. I love the city and people! Subway was so unique!! It had a character. So different from NY subways.
