If yesterday's post didn't bother you, this shouldn't either! Surprise, surprise... this is the same vehicle on the same spot just a few months later. Ui dios mio, what a difference some paint makes! As it turns out, a young French artist named Louis D’Anjou whose alias is 'GROLOU' came along and painted the rusty colectivo all over. Happy and multicolored faces are his specialty. And I don't think, you can do this in such a flawless way without the owner's permission. Still, the question remains about the 'what and why' of the van. Some of you commented on yesterday's post, such a vehicle wouldn't last long in your city, especially not in front of the Congress. Well, I would have expected the same for Buenos Aires but nobody seems to bother. Maybe that's because old, rusty cars and vans are quite common in the cityscape.

... Motor Home after the Vandals

Ficou muito melhor.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is an improvement...and quite colorful. We'll just call it the mystery van...and it's got its eye on you!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jacob - a grand improvement!
ReplyDeleteGrolou means fat wolf... Yes, big improvement indeed!
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice this way - I can imagine doing some road trip with this van and take photos of all the reactions on passersby it will provoke ;-)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Grolou is welcome to come here any time to paint all the old vehicles we still allow on our streets too! ;)
ReplyDeleteHe did quite a nice job.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your very kind comments on my blog(s). And have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI much prefer the 'after' shot : )
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. Perfect. I am glad he painted it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this will inspire the locals to spray their own designs on top, or whether it will stay like this until it totally rusts away.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting. Makes me wonder if this vehicle was left there as part of a plan.
ReplyDeleteLook, an old jalopy got a new lease on life - absolutely wonderful. Mind you, if all vehicles were painted like this, you'd get a headache driving down the highway.
ReplyDeleteI like the first bus better. Somehow the expression is raw and more powerful.
ReplyDeleteHmm, no, I prefer this one! "Grolou" may have a new international occupation.
ReplyDeleteNow this looks better! Protests should be as pretty as this. :)
ReplyDeleteLast weekend, I finally some good art on the streets.
